2023 Black History Month

While BPN HQ and its chapters program for black professionals all year round, Black History Month marks an important time period to pay tribute to the contributions of our ancestors and reflect on historical lessons that can shape our future; providing guidance, goals, and hallmark our progression.
This year, we have produced and curated a list of events with the future history makers in mind. Join your fellow legacy-building black professionals at these events:
Feb. 1st – Ignite Your Wealth Journey featuring Cedric Nash and guests; (6 pm, Ampersand Studios). Join dealmakers and legacy-builders for a reception and fireside chat to discuss his new book: “Why Should White Guys Have All the Wealth” while leaving with a pathway and tools to build a 6-figure wealth portfolio.
Feb. 4th – A Taste of the African Diaspora; (6 pm, Eden Roc Miami Beach), we’re inviting the community to join our culinary friends James Beard Finalist, Chef Ophus, and Rising Star Chef and Chopped Champion, Tristen Epps, for a one-of-a-kind dining experience featuring a 7-course menu paired with Uncle Nearest Whiskey cocktails.
Feb. 7th – Black History Month Pitch Competition; (5:30 pm, Monty’s Coconut Groove), hosted by Venture Miami, Silicon Valley Bank, and eMerge Americas, who are coming together to provide an opportunity for 8 companies to compete for over $40K in funding.
Feb. 11th – PAMM’s Art + Soul is among BPN’s favorites. This year marks the fund’s 10th anniversary, the event supports the acquisition of Black artwork for the permanent collection of the Museum. Guests have three engagement opportunities which include a dinner by Ghetto Gastro, the Reveal, and the Celebration featuring art, music, an open bar, and a special 10-year rum tasting. Feb. 15th – Chicago’s inaugural Black Men in Excellence; (6pm, Eleven Eleven), the Chicago Chapter of Black Professionals Network will host their inaugural Black Men in Excellence. Guests will enjoy a signature BPN mixer while congratulating the first class of Chicago honorees.
Feb. 16th – Black Men in Excellence; (6 pm, The Tuck Room), the Miami Chapter of Black Professionals Network will recognize ten (10) men in the community that reflect the principles of the organization. Guests will enjoy a signature BPN Mixer while congratulating the fourth class of honorees for their contributions to their profession and the community at large.
Feb. 16th – Los Angeles’s inaugural Black Men in Excellence; (6pm, La Create Space), the Los Angeles Chapter of Black Professionals Network will host their inaugural Black Men in Excellence. Guests will enjoy a signature BPN mixer while congratulating the first class of Los Angeles honorees.

Feb. 18th – Shades of Melanin; (8 pm, Soho Beach House), BPN’s signature event returns for its 7th installment and back at Soho Beach House. Guests adorn hues of the melanin complexion in cocktail attire while enjoying the Miami Beach skyline. This year, in honor of Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary, guests will enjoy the best of Hip Hop across the decades with a battle of the deejays and musical tribute to industry titan and the weekend’s guest of honor Timbaland.
Feb. 19th – Business of Beats featuring Timbaland; (7 pm, Soho Pool House), join us for a fireside chat with multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning, super-producer, and artist, Timbaland. The conversation will dynamic discussion on innovation in the music industry, web 3, and provide perspective on the opportunities present today in the world of music and entertainment.
Feb. 22nd – BPN Masterclass; Shaping Your Legacy: Estate Planning (8:30 pm, Virtual), join black professionals from across the nation for an in-depth seminar on shaping your legacy through estate planning. Learn how to protect your interest through wills and trusts while building a long-lasting foundation for the next generation.
Feb. 28th – Celebrate: Black Cap Tables panel and reception; (5:30 pm, Grown), in partnership with eMerge Americas and supporters, join the Miami venture community for a panel discussion from the Black Tech Ecosystem’s P.O.V.; learn how to break into angel investing and get perspectives from learn how to break into angel investing and get perspectives from early-stage investors and founders.
