Happy New Year, BPN!

As the new year proceeds, BPN is here to support you and your professional goals. As a member of the Black Professionals Network, access to beneficial and bountiful events, resources, and programs await you in 2023! To kick off the new year, the anticipated BPN mixer takes place the third week of every month, beginning with January.

The IG series, “Ready, Set, Goals!” will take place every Tuesday throughout the month of January on the @blackprofessionalsnetwork IG account, helping you get ahead with your legacy-building goals early in the year. Members receive a compiled “Ready, Set, Go!” workbook with notes and tips. On Wednesday the 25th, members can also take advantage of the Masterclass: Being an Industry Titan, to learn more about leveraging your expertise as an industry leader.

February is a robust month, with the highly anticipated “Black Men of Excellence” honoring exemplary leaders in the community. In addition to honoring Black men of excellence, “Shades of Melanin” takes place on the 18th. Shades of Melanin brings Black professionals together in the spirit of celebration of all the many beautiful hues of melanin. The month of March is all about the ladies, highlighting Black women in excellence who make a positive impact within the community.

When it comes to the month of April, there is a Masterclass on national press taking place on the 26th, as well as a tech industry event on the 14th. The classic mixer takes place the third week of the month, uniting professionals to network and mingle.

The month of May marks Haitian heritage month, a time to celebrate the rich culture of Haiti. In previous years, BPN has honored Haitian heritage with Haitian cuisine catered events, in collaboration with Haitian leaders and businesses in the community.

June is the month of freedom, with Juneteenth marking the date of both liberation and celebration for the Black community. The Freedom Ball taking place on the 16th is a formal commemoration, with esteemed speakers like actress Naturi Naughton and mayor Danielle Levine-Cava gracing the audience with their words. In addition to the Freedom Ball and monthly mixer, the beloved step show takes place on the 17th, entertaining both young and old in lively fashion. In July, the monthly mixer, HBCU picnic on the 8th, and the Masterclass: Federal Contracts on the 26th all take place for the BPN community.

Black Business Month reigns throughout the month of August, where Black businesses and entrepreneurs will be highlighted. Businesses ranging throughout diverse sectors can be found within the business directory on the app year round.

In the fall and winter season, members can anticipate the Masterclass: Pitch Deck on October 25th, in addition to the networking events during the third week of every month. BPN’s biggest event of the year, the BPN Summit takes place November the 8th through the 12th. Last year’s summit was a success with keynote speaker and CEO of Slutty Vegan Pinkey Cole winning the crowd with her authentic storytelling approach.
